Greater Love

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with a contrite heart I offer you this prayer. Make my heart humble and patient like your own. Let me live in you and for you, so that whatever I do this day may be done out of love. Receive me into your Heart, and keep me there. Amen.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

There is no greater love than to lay down one's life, and this is exactly what the Heart of Jesus did. He did not call us servants but friends, and then he died for us. When you doubt your worth today, remember that the measure of your value is not your achievements but the price he was willing to pay.

Jesus, you called me your friend and laid down your life for me. I can never repay such love, but I can return it. Take my small love and join it to your great one. Teach me to lay down my life in the ordinary ways, in patience, in service, in forgiveness, for the people you have placed around me. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
