Ask and Receive

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O Divine Infant Jesus, I come to you as a little child, with all my needs and all my trust. You who made yourself small for love of us, look kindly on me in my smallness. Fill me with confidence in your power and tenderness in your care. I believe that you can help me, and I believe that you will. Divine Infant Jesus, I place all my hope in you. Amen.

Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.

A child does not hesitate to ask. Jesus invites us into that same boldness: ask, seek, knock. He is not annoyed by our requests; he commands us to make them. Whatever you have been too timid or too discouraged to bring before him, this is the day to ask plainly and with confidence.

Lord Jesus, you told me to ask, to seek, and to knock, so I come knocking now. I lay my request before you without holding back. Give me the boldness of a child who is certain of a parent's love, and the patience to keep asking until your answer comes. I ask, and I trust that I am heard. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

O Jesus, who said, Whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you, I humbly lay my need before your Father in your holy name.
