How Much More

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O Divine Infant Jesus, I come to you as a little child, with all my needs and all my trust. You who made yourself small for love of us, look kindly on me in my smallness. Fill me with confidence in your power and tenderness in your care. I believe that you can help me, and I believe that you will. Divine Infant Jesus, I place all my hope in you. Amen.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Even flawed parents want to give their children good things; how much more does our perfect Father in heaven? Jesus reasons from the lesser to the greater so that we will trust God's generosity. He does not give grudgingly, and he does not give us stones when we ask for bread.

Father in heaven, you are infinitely more generous than the best earthly parent. I trust that you want to give good gifts to your children, and that you know how to give them. Free me from imagining you as stingy or distant. I ask for what I need, confident that whatever you give will be good, because it comes from you. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
