Christ the King Novena

8

A Place at the King's Table

Day 8 of 9 · 4 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, you conquer sin by self-giving love and draw all creation toward the Father's peace. Rule my heart during these nine days, receive the intention I bring, and make my life a faithful sign of your kingdom. Teach me to prefer your truth over every lesser loyalty. Amen.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    Luke 22:29-30

I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me, that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

  5. 05

    Reflection

At the Last Supper, Jesus speaks of his kingdom as a place at his table. The Eucharist is a foretaste of heavenly communion and forms one body from many members. The King's banquet sends us to welcome others and repair divisions. At that table, status yields to gratitude, mutual care, and forgiveness.

  6. 06

    Prayer

Jesus, Eucharistic King, draw me into deeper communion with you and your Church. Make me reverent at your table, quick to reconcile, and generous toward those who feel they have no place. Let communion reshape how I share food, attention, time, and belonging. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Closing

Jesus, my King and Savior, bring my intention into the wisdom of your Sacred Heart. Reign in my mind, will, relationships, work, and community, until all creation shares the freedom and peace of your everlasting kingdom. Make me ready to serve wherever your authority sends me. Amen.

  11. 11

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
