Christ the King Novena

6

The King Among the Least

Day 6 of 9 · 4 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, you conquer sin by self-giving love and draw all creation toward the Father's peace. Rule my heart during these nine days, receive the intention I bring, and make my life a faithful sign of your kingdom. Teach me to prefer your truth over every lesser loyalty. Amen.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    Matthew 25:40

The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

  5. 05

    Reflection

The final judgment reveals a King mysteriously present in the hungry, stranger, sick, poor, and imprisoned. Worship of Christ cannot remain separated from works of mercy. Love becomes concrete in food, welcome, care, accompaniment, and justice. Christ receives no detached compassion; he names deeds that touch hunger, loneliness, illness, exclusion, and captivity.

  6. 06

    Prayer

Jesus, hidden King, open my eyes to meet you in the vulnerable. Receive my intention, and show me a practical act of mercy through which your kingdom can become visible today. Let my help respect another person's agency and address what is actually needed. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Closing

Jesus, my King and Savior, bring my intention into the wisdom of your Sacred Heart. Reign in my mind, will, relationships, work, and community, until all creation shares the freedom and peace of your everlasting kingdom. Make me ready to serve wherever your authority sends me. Amen.

  11. 11

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
