About Saint Wenceslaus
Wenceslaus was a tenth-century duke of Bohemia who promoted Christian worship, cared for the poor, and sought peace while navigating fierce dynastic politics. His brother Boleslaus arranged his killing at Stará Boleslav around 935. Honored quickly as a martyr and just ruler, Wenceslaus became the enduring heavenly patron of the Czech people.
