About Saint Peter Damian
Peter Damian, born in Ravenna around 1007, became a hermit at Fonte Avellana and a vigorous leader of monastic renewal. Named cardinal bishop of Ostia, he worked against simony and clerical misconduct and undertook difficult missions for Church reform. His biblical writings and spiritual letters earned him recognition as a Doctor of the Church.
