About Saint Paul the Apostle
Paul, a Jewish Pharisee and Roman citizen from Tarsus, encountered the risen Jesus while traveling to Damascus. Once a persecutor, he became the tireless apostle to the nations, founding churches across the Mediterranean and writing letters central to the New Testament. Tradition holds that he was martyred by beheading in Rome under Nero.
