About Saint Martina of Rome
Martina is venerated as an early Roman virgin and martyr, but the surviving account of her trial under Emperor Alexander Severus was composed centuries later and cannot be treated as firm biography. Her cult was established in Rome by the early Middle Ages, and a church near the Roman Forum preserves her enduring memory.
