About Saint John Bosco
John Bosco, born in Piedmont in 1815, became a priest devoted to poor and working-class boys in industrial Turin. His Oratory combined prayer, education, trades, recreation, and patient accompaniment. He founded the Salesians and, with Mary Mazzarello, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, promoting a preventive approach rooted in reason, religion, and kindness.
