About Saint Lucy
Lucy is an early fourth-century virgin martyr of Syracuse whose name appears in the Roman Canon. Historical details are sparse, while later narratives added dramatic episodes about her eyes and execution. Her name, related to light, and her feast during the darkest season made her a beloved patron of people with visual impairments and a sign of Christ’s light.
