About Saint Leonard of Noblac

Leonard is venerated as a sixth-century Frankish hermit who settled near Limoges and became especially associated with prisoners and captives. His detailed medieval life was written long after his lifetime, so many stories cannot be verified. The monastery and town of Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat nevertheless preserve an enduring devotion centered on freedom, mercy, and intercession for detainees.
