About Saint Joan of Arc
Joan was a French peasant teenager who believed heavenly voices called her to aid Charles VII during the Hundred Years’ War. Her leadership helped lift the siege of Orléans and secure his coronation. Captured, tried by an ecclesiastical court entangled with English politics, and burned in 1431, she was later formally exonerated.
