About Saint Colette of Corbie

Colette, born in Corbie in 1381, lived first as a recluse before undertaking reform of the Poor Clares. With ecclesial authorization, she restored strict poverty, prayer, and community discipline in monasteries across France and neighboring lands. The Colettine reform she inspired endured because her austerity was joined to wise governance and care for sisters.
