About Saint Charbel Makhlouf
Charbel Makhlouf was a nineteenth-century Lebanese Maronite monk and priest. After years in community at the monastery of Saint Maron in Annaya, he received permission to live as a hermit, devoting himself to the Eucharist, manual labor, fasting, and silence. Devotion spread widely after his death amid reports of healing through his intercession.
