About Saint Casimir of Poland

Casimir, born in 1458, was a prince of Poland and Lithuania who resisted courtly excess and sought a life of prayer, chastity, justice, and practical charity. He declined a politically advantageous marriage and was respected for concern toward the poor. Tuberculosis ended his life at twenty-five in Grodno; he was buried in Vilnius.
