About Saint Bruno
Bruno was a respected teacher and church official at Reims who left prestige to seek a life wholly ordered toward God. In 1084 he and companions settled in the remote Chartreuse valley, combining solitary prayer with limited common worship. Their way became the Carthusian order, known for silence, austerity, study, and contemplative stability.
