About Saint Benjamin of Persia
Benjamin was a Persian deacon imprisoned during the early fifth-century persecution of Christians under the Sasanian kings. Released after outside intervention on condition that he cease preaching, he continued sharing the Gospel and was arrested again. Later accounts describe a cruel martyrdom around 424; their graphic details are hagiographic, but his witness is ancient.
