About Saint Angela Merici
Angela Merici, born near Brescia around 1474, gathered women for prayer, service, and the Christian education of girls. In 1535 she founded the Company of Saint Ursula, whose members initially remained in their homes rather than entering a cloister. Her innovative vision opened a durable form of consecrated life and teaching apostolate.
