About Saint Alphonsus Liguori
Alphonsus Liguori left a distinguished legal career in Naples to become a priest serving neglected rural communities. He founded the Redemptorists, wrote enduring works on moral theology and prayer, and later served reluctantly as a bishop. Against both laxity and crushing rigor, he emphasized conscience formed by truth and God’s abundant mercy.
