About Pope Saint Victor I
Victor I, a late-second-century bishop of Rome traditionally identified as North African, led the Church when Christians still faced imperial suspicion. He is best known for pressing churches to celebrate Easter on Sunday rather than following a competing date. Saint Irenaeus urged him to preserve communion despite the dispute.
