About Pope Saint Pius V
Michele Ghislieri, born in 1504, was a Dominican friar and reforming bishop before becoming Pope Pius V in 1566. He implemented the Council of Trent through seminary standards, clerical discipline, and revised liturgical books for the Latin Church. His pontificate also organized the Holy League before Lepanto and strengthened devotion to the Rosary.
