Our Lady Undoer of Knots Novena
When the Knot Is Loosed
Day 9 of 9 · 5 min
- 01
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
- 02
Opening
Holy Mary, Undoer of Knots, your obedience loosened the knot that Eve's disobedience had tied. With your patient hands you untangle the knots that bind your children. As I begin these days of prayer, I bring to you the tangles of my life - the worries, the broken relationships, the problems I cannot solve. Take the thread of my life into your hands, and with the help of your Son, undo what I cannot. Holy Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for us. Amen.
- 03
Your Intention
Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.
In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.
- 04
Scripture
John 2:11This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
- 05
Reflection
When the water became wine at Cana, the answer to Mary's quiet request revealed the glory of her Son. When our knots come loose, the same thing happens: we glimpse the goodness of God and our faith grows. On this last day we trust that he will reveal his glory in our lives too.
- 06
Prayer
Holy Mary, Undoer of Knots, you brought a need to your Son at Cana, and he revealed his glory. Take the intention I have carried these nine days, and present it to him. Undo my knots in the way that is best, and let the answer deepen my faith and give glory to God. Amen.
- 07
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
- 08
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
- 09
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
- 10
Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
- 11
Closing
Holy Mary, Undoer of Knots, I have placed in your hands the tangles I have carried through these days. With patience and love, undo them one by one, in the way and the time that is best. Present this intention to your Son, who can loosen what no one else can. Free my heart from anxiety, and lead me into the peace that comes when everything is left in his hands. Holy Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for us. Amen.
