Prayer Joined to Mercy

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God of all healing, you sent the archangel Raphael to serve your saving plan. Through his intercession, guide me on the road, protect those I love, heal what is wounded, and receive the intention I carry. Keep all my trust centered on your providence. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Good is prayer with fasting, alms, and righteousness. A little with righteousness is better than much with unrighteousness. It is better to give alms than to lay up gold.

Raphael joins prayer and fasting to almsgiving and righteousness, refusing a spirituality separated from justice. Devotion becomes credible when it loosens our grip on possessions and serves a neighbor's real good. Fasting should respect health, age, pregnancy, and medical needs; mercy is never measured by harm. Choose one prudent sacrifice that creates room for generosity today.

St. Raphael, pray that my worship may bear fruit in mercy. Help me fast prudently, give without display, repair what is unjust, and recognize Christ in the person who needs practical care. Through your intercession, may God guard me from spiritual pride and teach me to receive help humbly. Amen.
