Hope That Does Not Disappoint

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, Father of all consolation, you sent your apostle Jude to carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth, and you have made him a sure helper in desperate need. As I begin this novena, turn your face toward me. Through the prayers of St. Jude, give me confidence that no cause is beyond your power and no one is beyond your love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

and hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Hope is not wishful thinking; it is the quiet certainty that God's love has already been poured into us and will not be taken back. Even now, while the answer is unseen, that love is at work. St. Jude kept this hope through hardship, and he prays that we may keep it too.

God of love, you have poured your own life into my heart through the Holy Spirit. When the waiting is long and the silence heavy, remind me that your love has never once failed. Through the intercession of St. Jude, steady my hope, so that I expect good from you and am not put to shame. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

St. Jude, apostle and friend of Christ, you are honored as the helper of the hopeless and the patron of cases despaired of. Pray for me in this need, that I may not lose heart but trust the goodness of God. Carry my petition before the Lord, and obtain for me the grace I ask, if it is for the good of my soul. Amen.
