St. Jude Novena

1

When the Doors Have Closed

Day 1 of 9 · 4 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

O God, Father of all consolation, you sent your apostle Jude to carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth, and you have made him a sure helper in desperate need. As I begin this novena, turn your face toward me. Through the prayers of St. Jude, give me confidence that no cause is beyond your power and no one is beyond your love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    Romans 8:35

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

  5. 05

    Reflection

St. Jude is honored as the saint people turn to last - when every other door has shut and the case looks lost. Faith does not promise that the door will open the way you imagine; it promises that nothing, not even this, can cut you off from the love of Christ. Begin here, naming what feels hopeless, and entrust it to that unbreakable love.

  6. 06

    Prayer

Lord Jesus, I bring you the very thing I have almost given up on. Through the prayers of St. Jude, who stayed close to you to the end, hold me fast in your love when my own hope runs thin. Let nothing I face - no loss, no fear, no failure - convince me that you have let me go. Keep me near to you. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Closing

St. Jude, apostle and friend of Christ, you are honored as the helper of the hopeless and the patron of cases despaired of. Pray for me in this need, that I may not lose heart but trust the goodness of God. Carry my petition before the Lord, and obtain for me the grace I ask, if it is for the good of my soul. Amen.

  11. 11

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
