The Peace That Guards

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, you gave St. Dymphna to your people as a comfort to all who suffer in mind and heart. As I begin this novena, look gently on the burdens I carry within. Through her intercession, bring peace to my troubled thoughts and healing to my anxious heart. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

When we bring our anxieties to God, Scripture promises a peace beyond understanding that will guard our hearts and minds. This peace is not the absence of trouble but a sentry posted over the soul. St. Dymphna prays that this divine peace would stand watch over our restless thoughts.

Lord, you promise a peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that guards the heart and mind. Post that peace like a guard over my anxious thoughts. Through the intercession of St. Dymphna, let your calm settle over me, especially in the moments when my mind will not rest, and keep my heart in Christ Jesus. Amen.
