Holiness in This Life

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God of every generation, you gave St. Carlo a joyful desire for Jesus in the Eucharist and a generous love for his neighbors. Through Carlo's intercession, renew my friendship with Christ, guide the gifts you have entrusted to me, and receive my intention. Teach me to seek holiness without display or delay. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Carlo's short life reminds us that holiness is not reserved for another age or a different kind of person. Jesus calls us to the perfection of love within school, family, friendships, work, and rest. Grace begins with the person and circumstances we actually have. His example removes the excuse that ordinary schedules make sanctity impossible.

St. Carlo, pray that I may stop postponing discipleship. Help me receive God's grace today and choose the next honest, loving, and faithful action in front of me. Through your intercession, may I remain faithful in study, work, friendship, rest, and the sacraments. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
