The Good Shepherd

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with a contrite heart I offer you this prayer. Make my heart humble and patient like your own. Let me live in you and for you, so that whatever I do this day may be done out of love. Receive me into your Heart, and keep me there. Amen.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

The Heart of Jesus is the Heart of a shepherd who does not run when the wolf comes, but lays down his life for the sheep. This is not love in word only; it is love that bleeds. Whatever you are afraid of today, you are not facing it alone, for the Shepherd has already placed himself between you and the danger.

Good Shepherd, you laid down your life for me, and you carry me still when I cannot walk. Find me in the places where I have wandered, and carry me home on your shoulders. Let me hear your voice above all the others that call to me, and follow you with trust. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
