Our Lady of Good Health of Vailankanni Novena

3

The Healer of the Whole Person

Day 3 of 9 · 5 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

God of compassion, you have drawn generations of pilgrims to prayer at Vailankanni. As I begin this novena, receive the intention I carry and lead me to Jesus, the source of every grace. Through Mary's intercession, bring strength to people who are ill, wisdom to those who care for them, and peace to every burdened heart. Teach me to welcome others with tenderness and to seek healing with faith, patience, and prudence. Amen.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    Mark 2:5

Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, 'Son, your sins are forgiven you.'

  5. 05

    Reflection

The friends bring a paralyzed man expecting bodily help, and Jesus first addresses a wound no crowd can see. At Vailankanni, Mary is honored as Mother of Good Health because she directs the sick toward her Son. Christian healing can include forgiveness, courage, restored communion, wise treatment, or strength to endure; it is never a formula controlling God.

  6. 06

    Prayer

Lord Jesus, healer of the whole person, look with mercy upon every wound I name and those I cannot explain. Through Mary's intercession, forgive sin, repair broken trust, and support bodies that suffer. Grant clinicians sound judgment and patients access to care. Keep me faithful when healing takes an unexpected form or remains incomplete. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

  11. 11

    Closing

Our Lady of Good Health, Mother at Vailankanni, carry my intention to Jesus Christ, who alone is Lord and healer. Stay near patients, families, clinicians, caregivers, and everyone waiting without certainty. Help me receive appropriate care, offer practical compassion, and accept each day without losing hope. May every grace lead me toward your Son, every trial deepen charity, and every encounter honor the dignity of the person before me. Amen.

  12. 12

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
