Immaculate Heart of Mary, wholly open to God and united to the Heart of Jesus, receive me into your motherly care. Teach me to listen to the word, serve with haste, praise with humility, and remain faithful beneath the Cross. Lead my heart away from sin and toward the love of your Son. Amen.

Mary's immaculate heart is wholly ordered toward God, without the divided loyalties of sin. We honor her by allowing grace to purify our own loves, intentions, and habits. A pure heart is not anxious perfectionism; it is an undivided desire to belong to God. Such clarity also makes peace possible.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, I place the intention of these nine days in your care. Ask Jesus to cleanse what is disordered in me and heal what is wounded. Obtain for me a sincere, steadfast, and undivided heart that seeks God above all. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
