The Fruits of the Spirit

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth. Let us pray: O God, who taught the hearts of your faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us by that same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in his consolation. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

When the Spirit is at home in a life, it shows - not in dramatic signs, but in the quiet fruit of a changed heart: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. On this last day, ask not for feelings, but for fruit.

Come, Holy Spirit, and fill my heart with your fruits. Where I am anxious, give me peace; where I am harsh, give me gentleness; where I am restless, give me patience. Make my life a quiet harvest of your presence, so that those around me might taste your goodness through me. I consecrate myself to you: think your thoughts in me, love through my love, and make me, day by day, more like Jesus. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Holy Spirit, soul of my soul, I adore you. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me, and console me. Tell me what I should do, and give me the grace to do it. I promise to be open to whatever you ask of me, and to accept all that you allow to happen to me. Only show me your will. Amen.
