The Gift of Wisdom

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth. Let us pray: O God, who taught the hearts of your faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us by that same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in his consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Wisdom is the highest of the gifts - to love God so simply that you begin to taste, even now, the sweetness of the life to come. It is knowledge set on fire by love.

Come, Holy Spirit of wisdom, and reveal to my soul the things that are eternal. Let me find my joy in you above every other good, and order my whole life around that one love. Give me a heart that delights in you, so that even here I may begin to live the life of heaven. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Holy Spirit, soul of my soul, I adore you. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me, and console me. Tell me what I should do, and give me the grace to do it. I promise to be open to whatever you ask of me, and to accept all that you allow to happen to me. Only show me your will. Amen.
