Mercy for the Whole World

Day 9 of 9 · 4 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Most merciful Jesus, I trust in you.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    John 3:17

For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

  5. 05

    Reflection

On this last day, the novena widens beyond ourselves. We pray with the chaplet's own words, have mercy on us and on the whole world, because mercy that stays small was never truly understood. God did not come to condemn the world but to save it, and he invites us to want the same. Let your prayer today be as large as his Heart.

  6. 06

    Prayer

Most merciful Jesus, I have asked your mercy for myself and for those I love; now I ask it for the whole world. Have mercy on the suffering, the despairing, the hardened, and those who do not yet know you. For the sake of your sorrowful Passion, save what is lost, and make me a small channel of your boundless mercy. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Closing

For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Jesus, King of Mercy, I trust in you. Amen.

  11. 11

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
