First Reading
Prv 30:5-9proverbs 305"Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
6Don't you add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
7"Two things I have asked of you. Don't deny me before I die.
8Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me,
9lest I be full, deny you, and say, 'Who is the LORD?' or lest I be poor, and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.

Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 127:1-5psalms 1271Unless the LORD builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.
2It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones.
3Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD. The fruit of the womb is his reward.
4As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.
5Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won't be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Gospel
Lk 9:1-6luke 91He called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
2He sent them out to preach God's Kingdom and to heal the sick.
3He said to them, "Take nothing for your journey—no staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money. Don't have two tunics each.
4Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.
5As many as don't receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them."
6They departed and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News and healing everywhere.
