¹The LORD's word also came to me, saying,

²"Son of man, you dwell in the middle of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and don't see, who have ears to hear, and don't hear; for they are a rebellious house.

³"Therefore, you son of man, prepare your baggage for moving, and move by day in their sight. You shall move from your place to another place in their sight. It may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.

⁴You shall bring out your baggage by day in their sight, as baggage for moving. You shall go out yourself at evening in their sight, as when men go out into exile.

⁵Dig through the wall in their sight, and carry your baggage out that way.

⁶In their sight you shall bear it on your shoulder, and carry it out in the dark. You shall cover your face, so that you don't see the land, for I have set you for a sign to the house of Israel."

⁷I did so as I was commanded. I brought out my baggage by day, as baggage for moving, and in the evening I dug through the wall with my hand. I brought it out in the dark, and bore it on my shoulder in their sight.

⁸In the morning, the LORD's word came to me, saying,

⁹"Son of man, hasn't the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said to you, 'What are you doing?'

¹⁰"Say to them, 'The Lord GOD says: "This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are."'

¹¹"Say, 'I am your sign. As I have done, so will it be done to them. They will go into exile, into captivity.

¹²"'The prince who is among them will bear his baggage on his shoulder in the dark, and will go out. They will dig through the wall to carry things out that way. He will cover his face, because he will not see the land with his eyes.

⁵⁶Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and didn't keep his testimonies,

⁵⁷but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers. They were twisted like a deceitful bow.

⁵⁸For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their engraved images.

⁵⁹When God heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel,

⁶¹and delivered his strength into captivity, his glory into the adversary's hand.

⁶²He also gave his people over to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance.

²¹Then Peter came and said to him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?"

²²Jesus said to him, "I don't tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.

²³Therefore the Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.

²⁴When he had begun to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.

²⁵But because he couldn't pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, with his wife, his children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

²⁶The servant therefore fell down and knelt before him, saying, 'Lord, have patience with me, and I will repay you all!'

²⁷The lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him and forgave him the debt.

²⁸"But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him one hundred denarii, and he grabbed him and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me what you owe!'

²⁹"So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will repay you!'

³⁰He would not, but went and cast him into prison until he should pay back that which was due.

³¹So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were exceedingly sorry, and came and told their lord all that was done.

³²Then his lord called him in and said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.

³³Shouldn't you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?'

³⁴His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due to him.

³⁵So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you don't each forgive your brother from your hearts for his misdeeds."

¹When Jesus had finished these words, he departed from Galilee and came into the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan.
