²You shall remember all the way which the LORD your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, to test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.

³He humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn't know, neither did your fathers know, that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the LORD's mouth.

¹⁴then your heart might be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

¹⁵who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with venomous snakes and scorpions, and thirsty ground where there was no water; who poured water for you out of the rock of flint;

¹⁶who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers didn't know, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;

¹The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks, and calls the earth from sunrise to sunset.

⁸I don't rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me.

¹²If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.

¹³Will I eat the meat of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

¹⁴Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.

¹⁵Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."

⁵¹I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."

⁵²The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"

⁵³Jesus therefore said to them, "Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don't have life in yourselves.

⁵⁴He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁵For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

⁵⁶He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.

⁵⁷As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will also live because of me.

⁵⁸This is the bread which came down out of heaven—not as our fathers ate the manna and died. He who eats this bread will live forever."

¹⁶The cup of blessing which we bless, isn't it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn't it a sharing of the body of Christ?

¹⁷Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.
