About Saint Mary, Mother of God
Mary, a Jewish woman of first-century Nazareth, freely welcomed God’s call to become the mother of Jesus Christ. The title Mother of God safeguards the truth that her Son is one divine Person, truly God and truly human. She followed Jesus faithfully from Bethlehem to Calvary and prayed with the Church at Pentecost.
