About Saint Bernardino Realino
Bernardino Realino left a successful sixteenth-century career in law and public administration to enter the Society of Jesus. Ordained in Naples, he spent most of his priesthood in Lecce, teaching, hearing confessions, visiting the sick, and serving people in poverty. The city came to honor this humble Jesuit pastor as its heavenly patron.
