St. Teresa of Calcutta Novena

9

Love That Remains

Day 9 of 9 · 4 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

God of merciful love, you called St. Teresa of Calcutta to recognize and serve Christ in neighbors who were neglected and suffering. Through her intercession, give me a prayerful heart, attentive eyes, and willing hands, and receive the intention I carry. Let reverence guide both my compassion and my choices. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    1 Corinthians 13:8

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

  5. 05

    Reflection

Projects end, abilities fade, and even good works pass into other hands. Charity remains because it shares in God's own life. At the end of this novena, release both your intention and the desire to control its result into the love that does not fail. What is given in love is gathered into Christ even when results remain unseen.

  6. 06

    Prayer

St. Teresa, at the close of this prayer, intercede for the need I have carried. Ask God to let every answer draw me into deeper love of Christ and faithful service of my neighbor. Pray that gratitude, not possession, becomes the final shape of my service. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Closing

St. Teresa of Calcutta, faithful servant of Jesus, pray for those who are poor, sick, lonely, dying, or forgotten. Present my intention to God, and help me unite prayer with humble works of mercy wherever he places me. Keep every act rooted in prayer, truth, and respect. Amen.

  11. 11

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
