Christ Waiting in the Vulnerable

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God of merciful love, you called St. Teresa of Calcutta to recognize and serve Christ in neighbors who were neglected and suffering. Through her intercession, give me a prayerful heart, attentive eyes, and willing hands, and receive the intention I carry. Let reverence guide both my compassion and my choices. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Teresa's vocation was shaped by the Gospel conviction that service offered to a vulnerable person reaches Christ himself. The neighbor is never merely a project or symbol, but a person with dignity, history, and agency. Love begins by drawing near enough to see. Seeing well requires listening to what a person asks, not deciding for them.

St. Teresa, pray that I may recognize Jesus in people whom society overlooks. Ask Christ to free me from indifference, and show me a concrete way to honor one person's dignity today. Teach me to offer help without reducing anyone to need or helplessness. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
