Filled With Hope

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, Father of all consolation, you sent your apostle Jude to carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth, and you have made him a sure helper in desperate need. As I begin this novena, turn your face toward me. Through the prayers of St. Jude, give me confidence that no cause is beyond your power and no one is beyond your love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The novena ends where it began, but the heart has changed: the one who came in near-despair is sent out filled with joy and peace and overflowing hope. This is God's own work, not ours. St. Jude rejoices to see another soul learn to hope again.

God of hope, fill me now with all joy and peace as I trust in you, so that I may overflow with hope by the power of your Spirit. Through the prayers of St. Jude, let me leave this novena lighter than I came, certain that my cause is safe in your hands. Receive my petition, and your will be done. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

St. Jude, apostle and friend of Christ, you are honored as the helper of the hopeless and the patron of cases despaired of. Pray for me in this need, that I may not lose heart but trust the goodness of God. Carry my petition before the Lord, and obtain for me the grace I ask, if it is for the good of my soul. Amen.
