Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
- 02
Opening
O God, you gave St. Dymphna to your people as a comfort to all who suffer in mind and heart. As I begin this novena, look gently on the burdens I carry within. Through her intercession, bring peace to my troubled thoughts and healing to my anxious heart. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
- 03
Your Intention
Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.
In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.
- 04
Scripture
Psalm 34:19The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
- 05
Reflection
Scripture promises that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. On this final day, St. Dymphna assures us that God draws closest to those whose hearts and minds are most wounded. We bring our intention to the One who is near, and trust his healing.
- 06
Prayer
Lord, you are near to the brokenhearted and you save those who are crushed in spirit; you have not stood far off from my pain. I bring you the intention I have carried through this novena and all that troubles my mind and heart. Through the intercession of St. Dymphna, draw near, heal what is wounded within me, and give me your peace. Amen.
- 07
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
- 08
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
- 09
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
- 10
Closing
St. Dymphna, patroness of those who suffer in mind and spirit, you kept your faith through fear and trial. Intercede for me and for all who carry anxiety, sorrow, or distress of mind. Ask the Lord to quiet my troubled thoughts, to heal what is wounded within me, and to give me the peace that the world cannot give. Amen.
