Holy God, you called St. Charbel from Lebanon's villages into the prayer of the Maronite Church and the hidden life of a hermit. As I begin this novena, gather my restless heart and receive my intention. Through his intercession, deepen my love for the Eucharist, make my work an offering, and form me into an instrument of healing, unity, and peace. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

St. Charbel belonged to the Maronite Catholic Church, an Eastern Catholic Church in full communion with Rome, with its own Syriac heritage, liturgy, spirituality, and discipline. Communion is not uniformity. His witness invites Catholics to receive one another's traditions as gifts and to seek unity that honors rightful difference rather than absorbing it.

Holy Spirit, you create communion without erasing the gifts you have sown. Through St. Charbel's prayers, strengthen the Maronite Church and every Eastern Catholic Church. Heal ignorance, rivalry, and division among Christians. Teach me to approach unfamiliar traditions with reverence, to speak truth with charity, and to protect the bond of peace. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
