St. Carlo Acutis Novena

Belonging to the Lord

Day 8 of 9 · 4 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

God of every generation, you gave St. Carlo a joyful desire for Jesus in the Eucharist and a generous love for his neighbors. Through Carlo's intercession, renew my friendship with Christ, guide the gifts you have entrusted to me, and receive my intention. Teach me to seek holiness without display or delay. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    Romans 14:8

For if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord's.

  5. 05

    Reflection

Carlo faced serious illness as a young person, and his death came far earlier than those around him expected. Faith does not make illness less painful or medical care less necessary. It proclaims that every moment, including the final one, remains held within our belonging to Christ. Belonging to him makes room for grief, questions, treatment, and hope together.

  6. 06

    Prayer

St. Carlo, pray for young people who are sick and for families frightened by a diagnosis. Ask God for healing, skilled care, honest hope, and a deep awareness that nothing can separate us from Christ. Ask him also to comfort siblings, friends, and caregivers and strengthen them through truthful companionship. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Closing

St. Carlo, young friend of Jesus, pray for children, teenagers, families, and all who seek holiness in ordinary life. Help us receive Christ reverently, use our gifts with wisdom, serve the poor, and run faithfully toward heaven. Keep every screen, friendship, and decision ordered toward love. Amen.

  11. 11

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
