Every Tear Remembered
Day 9 of 9 · 5 min
- 01
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
- 02
Opening
God of life and mercy, you called St. Alphonsa within the Syro-Malabar Church and formed her among the Franciscan Clarist sisters. As I begin this novena, receive the intention I carry. Through her intercession, give me courage without glorifying pain, freedom to answer your call, humility to seek care, and faithful love in every circumstance. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
- 03
Your Intention
Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.
In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.
- 04
Scripture
Isaiah 25:8-9He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for the Lord has spoken it. It shall be said in that day, 'Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is the Lord! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!'
- 05
Reflection
Christian hope does not promise that every illness, conflict, or intention will be resolved during this novena. Isaiah points beyond death toward God's final victory, where no tear is overlooked. The brief life of St. Alphonsa ended with many earthly limits still present. The risen Christ gives those limits neither the first word nor the last. We can entrust unfinished stories to him without denying their ache.
- 06
Prayer
God of resurrection, I entrust my intention and every incomplete outcome to you. Through the intercession of St. Alphonsa, sustain those awaiting healing, safety, justice, or reconciliation. Help me accept the next faithful step while seeking the care and help available now. Keep hope alive until you wipe every tear away and gather us into lasting joy. Amen.
- 07
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
- 08
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
- 09
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
- 10
Closing
St. Alphonsa of the Immaculate Conception, daughter of Kerala and sister in the Syro-Malabar Church, carry my intention before God. Pray for all who live with illness, grief, coercion, trauma, or uncertainty, and for those who care for them. Help me receive grace, choose life, seek wise support, serve with tenderness, and remain hopeful in Christ. Amen.
- 11
Sign of the Cross
