Ask, and It Will Be Given

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Mother of Perpetual Help, in the holy image you hold your Son close, and he clings to your hand. To that same hand I come now with my need. You have never failed those who turn to you; you are the refuge of sinners, the comfort of the afflicted, the help of those in danger. As I begin these days of prayer, look upon me with the eyes of a mother, and turn them toward your Son. Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for us. Amen.

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.

Jesus tells us simply to ask, to seek, to keep knocking. The Mother of Perpetual Help has spent these days knocking with us, presenting our intention to her Son. On this last day, we ask with confidence, knowing the door is opened to those who do not give up.

Mother of Perpetual Help, I have knocked at heaven's door these nine days, and you have knocked alongside me. Present my intention to your Son one last time, and obtain for me the answer that is best for my soul. Whatever he grants, keep me always near your perpetual help. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Mother of Perpetual Help, you are called by that name because you never stop helping your children. Do not turn me away now, in the need I have carried through these days. Take my intention into your hands, the same hands your Son holds in the holy image, and place it before him. Stay near me always, and lead me safely home to him. Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for us. Amen.
