Behold Your Mother

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God of compassion, you have drawn generations of pilgrims to prayer at Vailankanni. As I begin this novena, receive the intention I carry and lead me to Jesus, the source of every grace. Through Mary's intercession, bring strength to people who are ill, wisdom to those who care for them, and peace to every burdened heart. Teach me to welcome others with tenderness and to seek healing with faith, patience, and prudence. Amen.

Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold, your son!' Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother!' From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

Vailankanni's pilgrims approach Mary as a mother who receives pain and hope, yet she belongs within the saving work of her crucified Son. Jesus gives her to the beloved disciple, and the disciple makes a home for her. Ending this novena means placing our outcome with Christ and carrying Mary's attentive discipleship into our own homes and communities.

Lord Jesus, beneath your Cross I entrust this intention to you without bargaining for a particular result. Thank you for the maternal care reflected in Our Lady of Good Health. Teach me to welcome her as your disciple and to become family for others. Whatever comes, keep me near your sacraments, obedient in love, and steadfast in hope. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Our Lady of Good Health, Mother at Vailankanni, carry my intention to Jesus Christ, who alone is Lord and healer. Stay near patients, families, clinicians, caregivers, and everyone waiting without certainty. Help me receive appropriate care, offer practical compassion, and accept each day without losing hope. May every grace lead me toward your Son, every trial deepen charity, and every encounter honor the dignity of the person before me. Amen.
