Our Lady of Good Health of Vailankanni Novena

7

Rest for Burdened Hearts

Day 7 of 9 · 6 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

God of compassion, you have drawn generations of pilgrims to prayer at Vailankanni. As I begin this novena, receive the intention I carry and lead me to Jesus, the source of every grace. Through Mary's intercession, bring strength to people who are ill, wisdom to those who care for them, and peace to every burdened heart. Teach me to welcome others with tenderness and to seek healing with faith, patience, and prudence. Amen.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    Matthew 11:28-29

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

  5. 05

    Reflection

The Vatican's 2024 letter recognizes that pilgrims at Vailankanni seek healing not only for bodies but also for sadness, anguish, and fear. Jesus welcomes these hidden burdens without shame. Spiritual consolation can stand alongside counseling, crisis support, medication, rest, and trusted friendship. Reaching for professional help is not weak faith; it can be a humble response to grace.

  6. 06

    Prayer

Gentle Jesus, receive the anxiety, grief, exhaustion, or loneliness that weighs upon me. Through Mary's maternal prayer, shelter minds troubled by despair and guide them toward safe, competent support. Make families and parishes attentive to warning signs. Give me courage to ask for help, patience with gradual healing, and rest rooted in your faithful presence. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

  11. 11

    Closing

Our Lady of Good Health, Mother at Vailankanni, carry my intention to Jesus Christ, who alone is Lord and healer. Stay near patients, families, clinicians, caregivers, and everyone waiting without certainty. Help me receive appropriate care, offer practical compassion, and accept each day without losing hope. May every grace lead me toward your Son, every trial deepen charity, and every encounter honor the dignity of the person before me. Amen.

  12. 12

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
