God of compassion, you have drawn generations of pilgrims to prayer at Vailankanni. As I begin this novena, receive the intention I carry and lead me to Jesus, the source of every grace. Through Mary's intercession, bring strength to people who are ill, wisdom to those who care for them, and peace to every burdened heart. Teach me to welcome others with tenderness and to seek healing with faith, patience, and prudence. Amen.

Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah, and entered into the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth.

Mary does not keep God's gift to herself; she goes promptly to Elizabeth and enters another household with care. Vailankanni's oral traditions likewise remember her closeness to poor boys. Whatever their historical details, the devotion invites us to notice people who are easily passed by and to make our presence a shelter rather than a burden.

God who comes near, awaken me to the person who needs welcome today. Through the intercession of Our Lady of Good Health, visit those who feel unseen in illness or poverty. Free me from hurried indifference, make my listening patient, and show me one concrete way to carry Christ's kindness into another person's home. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
